Job summary

South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership is recruiting for Driver/Loaders to join the Waste Services Team at East Lindsey District Council. You will drive refuse collection vehicles on scheduled rounds and support the running of the service, starting at 05:30am, Monday to Friday with some Saturdays and Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities include collecting refuse, recycling or green waste, loading containers, and maintaining vehicle readiness with daily checks.

Qualifications

• Category C (HGV Class2) Licence
• Full Drivers Qualification Card
• Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Capable of pushing/pulling of moderate to heavy weights

• Drive refuse collection vehicles and complete rounds across the service
• Collect refuse, recycling or green waste and load containers as required
• Maintain the vehicle with daily checks and report defects

Salary Range: £26,824 - £30,024 + Market supplement of £2,513 per annum

We are recruiting Driver/Loaders to join our Waste Services Team here at East Lindsey District Council.

You will be working in a small team with your crews, in new modern vehicles equipped with the latest technology, our teams are happy and proactive and well supported, our colleagues enjoy helping people and are true ambassadors to the Council.

You will have principal responsibilities to drive refuse collection vehicles and ensure the safe & effective completion of collection rounds across the service and contribute to the effective running of the overall service. Start time is 05:30am Monday-Friday. Some Saturday and Bank Holiday working is also involved.

Typical duties are:

• Undertake refuse, recycling or green waste collection as directed and other related waste services
• Carry out the collection/emptying, loading and distribution of sacks, wheeled bins, or other containers as appropriate, from the curtilage (boundary) of the property or other agreed location.
• Maintenance of the vehicle allocated, including daily roadworthy checks and the reporting of defects.

The successful candidate:

• Category C (HGV Class2) Licence
• Fully complete Drivers Qualification Card
• Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Capable of pushing/pulling of moderate to heavy weights
