Job summary

Leicester City Council is recruiting a permanent HGV Driver Labourer to work 37 hours per week across Leicester City. You’ll be based at 88 Leycroft Road and travel to sites as required to support Housing Services.

Key duties include clearing rubbish, garden waste and unwanted goods, loading and storing items from empty council homes, maintaining daily checks on council vehicles including HGVs, and carrying out deliveries and collections while ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and with

Qualifications

• HGV Licence C required.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good interpersonal and customer-facing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Clear rubbish, garden waste and unwanted goods; remove/store items from empty council homes.
• Maintain and check the team’s council vehicles, including HGVs.
• Carry out deliveries and collections; ensure waste is disposed of correctly with recycling.
• Represent the City Council and provide good customer care to a diverse public.
