Job summary

Driver Hire Preston is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for night trunking work based at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge. Immediate start with pay of £20.00 per hour (PAYE) and a weekly pay cycle. The role requires a Class 1 licence, CPC, tachograph, and clean licence (no more than 6 points).

Monday to Friday 7pm start, with permanent roles after temporary periods. Applicants should be punctual, reliable and able to work independently while maintaining vehicle safety checks and professional

Qualifications

• Valid CPC Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 points on licence
• Punctual and reliable

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.)
• Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and condition
• Ensure sufficient fuel for the day’s work
• Maintain security of vehicle and contents
• Maintain smart appearance and professional conduct
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication with customers
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements

Job description

We are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for night trunking work to start immediately for our clients based at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge

£20.00 per hour, £900 per week

HGV Class 1 is also known as Cat C+E for those who are more recent passes.

As these positions are ASAP, we will need you to be immediately available so please don't apply unless you are.

Work Pattern, Monday to Friday 7pm start.

To work with us as a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will need

• A UK issued Class 1 driving Licence held for 1 year or more.
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Be punctual and reliable

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations and have Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

The successful Class 1 HGV Drivers can expect:

• Monday-Friday: £20.00 PAYE Per Hour .
• Weekly Pay, paid on time every time.
• 8hr minimum guaranteed pay per shift
• Subsidised ongoing CPC training.
