Job summary

Driver Hire Preston is seeking Class 1 HGV drivers for day work at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge. Immediate start available with a pay rate of £16.81 per hour PAYE with these roles offering a guaranteed minimum 8 hours per shift and a Monday–Friday pattern starting at 06:00.

Applicants must hold a UK Class 1 licence (Cat C+E) for 1 year+, CPC and Tachograph cards, and have no more than 6 points. Punctuality, reliability and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• UK issued Class 1 driving Licence held for 1 year or more.
• Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Meet Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 1 (Cat C+E) deliveries and collections.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.) and report faults.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security of its contents.
• Ensure adequate fuel for the day’s work and comply with speed limits.
• Maintain a smart appearance and professional conduct; support customer relations.

We are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for day work to start immediately for our clients based at Walton Summit near Bamber Bridge

£16.81 per hour PAYE Adv

HGV Class 1 is also known as Cat C+E for those who are more recent passes.

As these positions are ASAP, we will need you to be immediately available so please don't apply unless you are.

Work Pattern, Monday to Friday 06.00 am start.

To work with us as a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will need

• A UK issued Class 1 driving Licence held for 1 year or more.
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Be punctual and reliable

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations and have Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

The successful Class 1 HGV Drivers can expect:

• Monday-Friday: £16.81 PAYE Adv Per Hour.
• Weekly Pay, paid on time every time.
• 8hr minimum guaranteed pay per shift
• Subsidised ongoing CPC training.
