Job summary

Platts Agriculture Ltd is seeking full-time and casual HGV Class 1 drivers to join our nationwide haulage operation. You will be part of a trusted, experienced team delivering across the UK and Ireland, with modern fleet and schedules that include nights out when required.

The role includes 40+ hours per week for full-time staff, with nights out as needed; casual drivers cover absences on an ad hoc basis. Applicants should have a clean HGV C+E licence, CPC, tachograph knowledge, and a good

We are looking for both full time and casual Class 1 drivers to join our highly experienced and trusted nationwide haulage operation.

About the Role

The successful candidates will join a friendly team who have achieved ‘Green-Green’ status with the Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency (DVSA).

As one of our drivers you will be involved in all aspects of general haulage across every industry; delivering all the way from the Orkney Isles to Plymouth; Cork to Colchester. You will work with our fleet of modern and well-maintained commercial vehicles including articulated moving floor trailers and rigid flat-deck lorries.

The full-time role will work Monday to Friday, minimum of 40 hours per week with nights out as required. Casual drivers will work on an ad hoc basis (Monday to Friday) to cover absences with nights out as required.

Your Responsibilities

• Safely operate a HGV Class 1 Vehicle to collect and transport goods and products across the UK and Ireland
• Load and unload using appropriate equipment and techniques
• Adhere to all Tachograph, Driver and Road Regulations
• Complete all relevant customer paperwork
• Effective communication with planning team and customers
• Complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections

What we are looking for

• Full, clean HGV C+E Class 1 licence – Maximum of 6 points
• No previous driving ban
• Experience in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of Tachograph and WTD rules
• A digital tachograph card and full CPC
• Able to work nights out during the week, as required
• Excellent geographical knowledge
• Ability to work in line with high health and safety standards
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Good attention to detail
• Previous experience of working in general haulage, of using walking floors and securing unusual loads is desirable.

What you will receive

• Salary/Pay Rate: £15ph (Breaks are paid, elevating rate of pay to the equivalent of £16.70 per hour)
