Job summary

R S Cockerill (York) Ltd is seeking an HGV Driver to join our family business. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will operate articulated vehicles across various shifts, including weekends and occasional nights out, while maintaining high safety and service standards.

We run modern DAF and Renault tractors, with a strong maintenance programme. Applicants must hold a UK HGV C+E licence, Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph card, and be willing to work variable hours within drivers hours

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and HGV C+E licence (Class 1).
• At least 2 years experience on articulated trucks.
• Prepared to spend nights out.
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card and be prepared to work within all the legal parameters of drivers hours legislation.
• Drive carefully and safely, mindful that they are ambassadors for the business.
• Have a good level of communication skills, work as part of a team, with the ability to understand and share verbal instruction in English.
• A willingness to work variable hours and be flexible to the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Operate articulated HGVs safely and efficiently.
• Represent the business with professionalism on the road.
• Work across shifts, including weekends; nights out when required.
• Comply with drivers hours legislation and tachograph rules.
