Job summary

TRC Yorkshire currently seeks experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) for ongoing roles in the Sheffield area. Shifts run Mon-Sun, with full-time, part-time, or ad-hoc options. Start times range 12:00 to 21:00, all paid at night rate.

Pay scales include midweek rates with progression after 12 weeks and weekend uplifts. Responsibilities include depot pulls, trailer exchanges, loading/unloading, and tacho card downloads. You must hold a C+E licence, be DCPC-capable, and meet time-keeping rules.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 6 months proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence; minor offences only.
• No more than 12 infringement points in any month and none for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work across Mon-Sun; start times 12:00–21:00 with night rate.
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho download.
• Understanding of Work Time Directive (WTD).
• Excellent communication and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, fill trailer at depot and transport to hub.
• Engage in customer work, collect trailer and deliver to hub.
• Assist with loading/unloading at customer sites and depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations; occasional tail lift use.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for one-off tacho card download.
• Attend on-site induction for first shift.

Skills

Full UK driving licence including C+E
