Job summary

NSL, part of Marston Holdings, is hiring an HGV Driver in West Bromwich to support enforcement operations on untaxed vehicles on behalf of the DVLA.

You will work 42.5 hours per week, hold a Class 1 HGV licence with HIAB, and be responsible for safe vehicle removal, reporting, and collaboration with Police and DVLA.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 HGV) + HIAB
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Attends daily briefing and collects removal information
• Ensures vehicle and equipment are serviceable and safe
• Performs vehicle recovery and photographs as required
• Delivers vehicles to the pound and updates the office
• Works with other agencies (Police, DVLA, VOSA) as needed

Location: West Bromwich
We currently have over 4000 highly trained frontline colleagues and now due to continued growth we have opportunities available in our award-winning teams for anHGV Driver.
The successful candidate will be trained to use our high-tech equipment and carry out enforcement action on untaxed vehicles on behalf of the DVLA including the recovery of unlicensed vehicles. You will learn how to operate within the guidelines established in current legislation and procedures and ensure that all members of the public are treated equally and fairly.
For this role you must hold a Full UK Driving Licence [Class 1HGV]+ HIAB
This is a full time, permanent role working 42.5hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Attends a daily briefing and collects all removal information and reports relevant to the day’s work.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment is serviceable and fit for purpose, reports all faults to the Pound Manager.
• Carries out a physical examination of all lifting and towing equipment, and ensures the digital tachograph is operating correctly.
• Checks to make sure the recovery vehicle is capable of removing the vehicles safely and informs the pound manager of any concerns.
• Carries out the safe removal of all vehicles, assigned either via the tablet p.c. or by telephone from the pound. Ensures all photographs required of the vehicle are taken and completes a vehicle condition report, contacts the pound to confirm removal and requests the Police are informed.
• Delivers the vehicles to the pound, unloads and takes further photographs. Requests next task from the office and repeats the process.
• Can often work with other agencies, when required including, Police, DVLA and VOSA.
• Deals with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensures the relevant information packs are available.
• Must be flexible in their attitude to working hours, locations and must be prepared to take on other roles, temporarily, as required by the operation.
• Be presentable and show high levels of personal integrity and honesty
