Job summary

NSL, part of Marston Holdings Ltd, is hiring an HGV Driver in Leigh. This full-time, permanent role offers 42.5 hours per week and requires a Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 HGV). HIAB is desirable but not essential.

You’ll attend daily briefings, manage removals, ensure vehicles and equipment are serviceable, take photos, and report faults. You may work with Police, DVLA and VOSA, and must be flexible with hours and locations.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily briefing and collect removal information.
• Ensure vehicle and equipment are serviceable and report faults.
• Carry out safety checks on lifting/towing equipment and tachograph.
• Confirm recovery vehicle is capable of removing vehicles safely; inform pound manager.
• Carry out safe vehicle removals, photograph vehicles, and complete reports.
• Deliver vehicles to the pound, unload, and log next task.
• Work with agencies such as Police, DVLA and VOSA as required.
• Be flexible with working hours and locations; take on other roles as needed.
• Present yourself with high levels of integrity.

For this role you must hold a Full UK Driving Licence [Class 1HGV] + HIAB is desirable not essential

This is a full time, permanent role working 42.5hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Attends a daily briefing and collects all removal information and reports relevant to the day’s work.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment is serviceable and fit for purpose, reports all faults to the Pound Manager.
• Carries out a physical examination of all lifting and towing equipment, and ensures the digital tachograph is operating correctly.
• Checks to make sure the recovery vehicle is capable of removing the vehicles safely and informs the pound manager of any concerns.
• Carries out the safe removal of all vehicles, assigned either via the tablet p.c. or by telephone from the pound. Ensures all photographs required of the vehicle are taken and completes a vehicle condition report, contacts the pound to confirm removal and requests the Police are informed.
• Delivers the vehicles to the pound, unloads and takes further photographs. Requests next task from the office and repeats the process.
• Can often work with other agencies, when required including, Police, DVLA and VOSA.
• Deals with enquiries from the public regarding enforcement action and ensures the relevant information packs are available.
• Must be flexible in their attitude to working hours, locations and must be prepared to take on other roles, temporarily, as required by the operation.
• Be presentable and show high levels of personal integrity and honesty
