Job summary

Complete Site Recruitment is seeking a professional 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The role involves collecting and delivering construction goods and tarmac across various locations, with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will operate a 7.5-tonne lorry, load/unload goods, carry out pre-journey checks, plan routes to optimise punctuality, and maintain delivery records. The position offers 50 hours per week at £12.21–£16.00 per hour, with paid breaks.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence category C1 with CPC & Tacho Card.
• Experience in logistics or construction driving.
• Ability to work 50 hours per week.

Job description

We are seeking a professional 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. This role involves collecting and delivering construction goods and tarmac efficiently and safely across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, helping to contribute to the smooth operation of our logistics services.

Duties

• Safely operate a 7.5-tonne lorry in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or machinery such as excavators when necessary
• Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any faults or issues
• Help plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and records of goods transported
• Assist with minor mechanical troubleshooting or basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle when required i.e bulb changing etc
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times during operations

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) HGV driving licence with a clean driving record
• Current CPC & Tacho Card
• Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably within logistics or construction sectors
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
