Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a reliable HGV Driver for the London Docklands operation. You will drive a modern fleet, execute nationwide collections and deliveries, and support the national transport department to keep the network moving.

The role requires a UK Class 1 licence, CPC, and tachograph proficiency, plus 6 months+ Class 1 experience. Expect a permanent 40-hour week with Sunday to Thursday shifts and modern GPS-enabled vehicles.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a safety-first mindset.
• Resourceful problem-solver who can work under pressure and hit deadlines while delivering great service.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV routes.
• Move bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage routes and stay compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers nationwide.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

• The Mission: Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Logistics: Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Tech & Compliance: Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.

• Safety First: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

What You Bring
