Job summary

Lanes Group is hiring HGV Tanker Engineers to operate vacuum tankers on a waste water contract from Millbrook Depot, Southampton, covering the Hampshire region. The role includes days and nights, with a 4 days on / 4 days off pattern and a 20% uplift for night shifts.

You will need a valid HGV Class 1 or 2 licence with CPC and a current tachograph card to join our team. Full PPE and training are provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV-mounted vacuum tankers for drainage and waste management tasks.
• Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting faults promptly.
• Maintain health and safety standards, including proper PPE use.

About the Role:

We are looking for HGV Class 1 or Class 2 drivers to work on a full time basis for days on our waste water contract.

Driving a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities across the regions. You will be provided with a phone and an app to outline the jobs that have been assigned to you by the Operations Supervisor

Due to the nature of the role, a full HGV Class 1 or Class 2 UK drivers licence with CPC and have up to date digi tachograph card.

Location: Working out of Millbrook Depot - Southampton - Covering the Hampshire Region

Hours: 4 days on 4 days off to cover days and nights

Salary: £17phr

20% uplift on night shifts

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

• HGV class 1 or class 2 driving licence
• Valid in date CPC and up to date taco
