Job summary

Veolia in Camden is recruiting a Class 2 HGV Driver/Sweeper for night shifts from 22:00 to 06:00. The role pays £19.65 per hour and includes Veolia benefits and a 40-hour week. Primary duties include operating HGV vehicles and waste removal across domestic and commercial sites.

You will join one of the UK\'s largest fleets and contribute to keeping communities clean while supporting safety and efficiency in every collection run.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence is required.
• Class 2 vehicle experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGVs (18t/12t variants) as required.
• Remove waste from domestic and commercial premises and the Highway.
• Clear any spillages at collection to leave site litter-free.
• Enter premises in compliance with site rules and Health & Safety procedures.
• Adhere to road traffic laws and loading/weight restrictions.

What You'll be doing:

• Will be driving HGV Vehicles such as 18t Dust Cast, 7.5t Cage or 12t Scarab depending on business needs for the day/week.
• Undertake the removal of waste, bulky items and Sweeper's sacks from domestic and commercial premises and the Highway. Waste may be loose or in bags, bin, wheeled bins, Paladin and Euro-bin containers and any other container
• Ensure that any spillage of waste is cleared at the time of collection to leave the site litter free
• When entering premises, comply with any site rules and Health & Safety procedures
• Comply with all road traffic legislation in relation to your duties including parking restriction, security and weight of loads. The Company operates a zero tolerance on overweight vehicles.
• At the end of the shift, ensure that the tipper is left empty and that the cab is clean and clear of litter, uniform and personal effects.
• Report locations of any fly-tipping, graffiti, fly posting damaged/missing litter bins and waste containers.
• Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with members of the public, client staff and colleagues

What we're looking for:

Essential:

• Full valid driving licence
• Previous Class 2 experience

Desirable:

• Waste experience
• Previous sweeper experience
