Job summary

Lanes Group in Bradford is hiring an HGV Driver to join a two-person wastewater maintenance team. The role combines driving with drainage work outdoors, operating a City Flex vehicle and supporting jetting operations.

The position is permanent, based in Bradford, with standard 47.5 hours weekly and a starting hourly rate of £14.50–£15.50 depending on experience. CPC and drainage experience are desirable, along with data entry on tablets.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence with up to 6 penalty points is required.
• Desirable: CPC and drainage experience.
• Competent in using electronic devices for data entry (tablet or laptop).

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a City Flex HGV vehicle as part of wastewater maintenance operations.
• Support high‑pressure water jetting activities across the wastewater network.
• Identify blockages, leaks, and other drainage issues.
• Complete digital site documentation and records on a tablet.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and PPE to a high standard.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Represent Lanes Group professionally and provide excellent customer service.

Purpose of the role:

As a HGV Driver, you'll work as part of a two-person team carrying out proactive and reactive wastewater network maintenance. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines HGV driving with operational drainage work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a specialist team.

Key Requirements:

Skills and experience:

• HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 6 penalty points

Desirable:

• Previous drainage experience
• A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry
