Job summary

Vector Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer to join a field-based team handling jetting and vacuum operations across Kent. The role involves operating specialist jetting equipment and safely driving a Combi/Jetting vehicle.

Ideal candidates will have a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, and proven drainage/jetting experience, with a full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK. Flexibility for overtime and site travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Essential: Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Essential: Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Essential: Proven drainage and jetting operations experience.
• Essential: Full clean UK driving licence.
• Essential: Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and service Jet Vac (Combi Unit) equipment.
• Drive and operate an HGV Class 2 Combi/Jetting vehicle.
• Carry out high-pressure water jetting and vacuum excavation work.
• Clean and maintain drainage systems including sewers and pipework and interceptors.
• Work in confined spaces following safety procedures and RAMS.
• Complete waste documentation and duty-of-care paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with clients, site teams and line managers.
• Work overtime and away from home as required.

HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer - Kent

We are recruiting experiencedHGV Class 2 Drainage Engineerto join a growing drainage team working across commercial, domestic clients..

This is a hands-on, field-based role operating specialist jetting and vacuum equipment, supporting drainage maintenance and repair works across the network.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and service Jet Vac (Combi Unit) equipment in line with manufacturer service manuals
• Drive and operate an HGV Class 2 Combi / Jetting vehicle safely and efficiently
• Carry out high-pressure water jetting and vacuum excavation work
• Clean and maintain drainage systems including:
  • Sewers and pipework
  • Interceptors
• Work in and around confined spaces in accordance with safety procedures
• Ensure full compliance with RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and site safety rules
• Complete all required waste documentation and duty-of-care paperwork
• Communicate effectively with clients, site teams, and line managers
• Work flexibly, including overtime and working away from home during the week

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Strict adherence to RAMS documentation on all sites
• Safe operation of high-pressure water jetting and vacuum systems
• Compliance with environmental waste handling regulations
• Working safely in confined or high-risk environments

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Proven experience in drainage and jetting operationsStrong understanding of safe systems of work and RAMS compliance
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Streetworks qualification
• High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) certification
• Confined Space training
• First Aid qualification
• Experience in patch lining / UV drain lining

Skills Required

• Ability to operate specialist drainage equipment confidently
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
• Willingness to carry out physically demanding outdoor work
• Flexibility to work overtime and away from home when required

Pay & Benefits

• £18.00- £21ph depending on experience- enhanced overtime rates
