Job summary

BAKO Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Class 2 HGV driver to deliver bakery products to customer premises according to the planned route. You will check loads, confirm quantities, and capture any discrepancies on the POD/FATHER system.

You will collect payments where applicable, record returns, manage pallets, ensure temperature checks, and keep the vehicle and paperwork compliant with driver hours rules. A strong focus on customer service and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Class 2 HGV licence (C+E not required)
• DQC/CPC card valid
• Excellent customer relations and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle walkaround checks before use
• Deliver goods as planned by transport teams
• Verify quantities with customers and record discrepancies in POD/FATHER
• Collect payments where applicable and handle cheques
• Record returns and pallet movements; ensure documentation is accurate
• Load/unload and ensure pallets and loads are properly handled
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and daily pre-use checks
• Log driver hours and rest periods in Digi card system
