Job summary

BAKO Group in Preston is looking for a dedicated Transport Driver to join our team and deliver bakery products to customers across the UK from our Preston depot. Hours are Monday to Friday, 48 hours per week. A Class 2 HGV licence, CPC/DQC card and strong knowledge of road networks are essential.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence held and valid.
• Self-motivated with enthusiasm and good initiative.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks.
• Excellent customer relations and teamwork.
• Valid DQC/CPC card.
• Solid understanding of driver’s hours regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle walkaround checks before use.
• Deliver goods to planned routes as scheduled.
• Verify quantities and record discrepancies on POD.
• Collect payments where applicable and handle cheques.
• Record daily returns, pallet swaps, and loads.
• Reconcile empty pallets and recycle waste.
