Job summary

Quest Waste Management Ltd. is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Jet Vac Operator to join a two-person crew providing specialist drainage services in Wakefield.

You will operate Jet Vac and Recycler Tankers, respond to emergencies, and ensure safe, compliant waste handling and timely completion of job records. The role requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, Tachograph Card, and 2 years in drainage/HGV driving with high-pressure jetting experience.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Drainage industry experience: 2 years.
• HGV driving experience: 2 years.
• High-pressure water jetting experience.
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Competent in the use of electronic tablets and mobile technology.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a range of Jet Vac and Recycler Tankers.
• Respond to emergency callouts including sewer blockages, flooding and pollution incidents.
• Collect, transport and dispose of controlled and liquid waste in line with legislation.
• Comply with health, safety, environmental and company procedures.
• Carry out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections.
• Complete all required job records and documentation accurately.
• Ensure PPE is maintained and used properly.
• Support other teams and cover additional duties as required.

The role involves clearing blockages, undertaking preventative maintenance, and responding to emergency callouts, always ensuring a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a range of specialist Jet Vac and Recycler Tankers.
• Respond to emergency callouts, including sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution incidents.
• Collect, transport, and dispose of controlled and liquid waste in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and company procedures.
• Carry out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
• Complete all required job records and documentation accurately.
• Ensure all PPE is maintained in good condition and used appropriately.
• Support other operational teams and undertake additional duties when required, including during vehicle downtime.

Essential Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
