Job summary

Sydenhams Limited in Frome is seeking a part-time HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our building materials team. The role involves multi-drop deliveries to residential and construction sites, 27 hours over 3 days.

You will liaise with the Frome branch to keep deliveries flowing and provide friendly, reliable service as the familiar face of our family-run business.

Essential CPC, HGV2; HIAB preferred but not required. Good numeracy and IT skills, and knowledge of building materials, are valued.

Qualifications

• CPC is required and must be valid.
• HGV Class 2 (CAT C) license is essential.
• HIAB/Cranes experience is preferred but not essential.
• Be friendly, a team player and motivated to deliver great service.
• Knowledge of building materials helps in customer interactions.
• Numeracy and computer literacy are important for handling orders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver multi‑drop loads to residential and building sites around Frome.
• Liaise with the branch team to keep deliveries running smoothly.
• Provide friendly customer service as the face of the company.
• Operate safely and in line with CPC and road regulations.

The group supplies to a broad range of customers, including DIY and Retail, small to national Housebuilders, General and Specialist Contractors, Housing Associations, and other Timber and Builders Merchants.

The Role:

Our drivers are the face of our company and often serve as the first point of contact with our customers. The successful candidate will be working on multi-drop deliveries to residential and building sites in and around the Frome area, liaising with the team at the branch to ensure our delivery services run efficiently and effectively.
