HG Recruitment is seeking a HGV Class 2 Driver for residential refuse and recycling collections in the Yate area. You will join a professional waste team, handling multi-drop rounds, daily checks and safety-focused operations. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Ideal candidates have a Category C licence, CPC, and a solid understanding of Drivers Hours rules. Beginning roles welcome, with competitive hourly pay and potential for permanent placement.

• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Maximum 6 penalty points (minor endorsements only).
• Understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Reliable, safety-focused and customer friendly.

Responsibilities

• Residential refuse and recycling collections across local area.
• Work in a three-person crew (1 Driver & 2 Loaders).
• Complete multi-drop rounds safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain high safety and customer service standards.
• Work independently while supporting the wider team.

HGV Class 2 Driver | Yate, Bristol

Location: SUEZ Yate – Sort It Recycling Centre, Great Western Business Park, Armstrong Way / Collett Way, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5NH

Pay Rates

Newly Qualified Drivers

• Monday-Friday: £18.00 per hour
• Overtime (after 40 hours): £27.00 per hour
• Saturday: £27.00 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £36.00 per hour

Estimated Weekly Pay (40 Hours): £720

Potential Annual Earnings: £37,440

Experienced Drivers (Minimum 12 Months Proven Class 2 Experience)

• Monday-Friday: £22.00 per hour
• Overtime (after 40 hours): £33.00 per hour
• Saturday: £33.00 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £44.00 per hour

Estimated Weekly Pay (40 Hours): £880

Potential Annual Earnings: £45,760

The Role

Working as part of a professional waste and recycling team, you will complete residential refuse and recycling collections across the local area.

Duties

• Residential refuse and recycling collections.
• Work as part of a three-person crew (1 Driver & 2 Loaders).
• Complete multi-drop collection rounds safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain high safety and customer service standards.
• Work independently while supporting the wider team.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 6 penalty points (minor endorsements only)
• Good understanding of Driver's Hours and Working Time Regulations
• Reliable, safety-focused and customer friendly
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills with a flexible, can-do attitude
• Newly Qualified Class 2 Drivers are welcome to apply, provided you are confident completing blind-side reversing manoeuvres safely.
