Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for multi-drop deliveries of specialist glass across the UK from Witham, Essex. 47 hours per week, early starts from 4:00am, permanent full-time role with salary £15.50 per hour.

You will load/unload, operate a Moffett forklift where applicable, and provide excellent customer service while meeting schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence (Category C) required.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Moffett licence desirable.
• Multi-drop driving experience preferred.
• Excellent time management and route planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely delivering glass products to customers across the UK.
• Loading, securing and unloading glass safely, with some manual handling.

• Planning delivery routes efficiently to meet customer deadlines.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly for transportation.
• Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and vehicle records.
• Providing outstanding customer service at every delivery.
• Working closely with the transport team and fellow drivers.
• Following all transport legislation, driver hours regulations and company procedures.

Every delivery matters. You'll be transporting specialist glass products safely to customers across the UK, representing a market-leading manufacturer with professionalism, care and attention to detail.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same. You'll typically complete 6-10 multi-drop deliveries each day, depending on the route and load size.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely delivering glass products to customers across the UK

As one of the company's drivers, you'll be the face of the business, so professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude are just as important as your driving skills.

Working hours

• Early starts from4:00amto avoid London traffic
• 47 contracted hours per week
• Local routes can often finish by around3:00pm
• Longer-distance routes may involve a longer working day
• 1-2 overnight stays per weekmay be required depending on delivery schedules
• Night out allowancepaid for overnight stays

We're looking for someone who has

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence or above
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Moffett licence (highly desirable)
• Multi-drop driving experience (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent time management and route planning skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work
• A commitment to safety and delivering excellent service
