Job summary

A leading logistics company in Erith is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join their team. This temporary role offers a pathway to permanent employment after 12 weeks, with a salary of £42,000 per year (£20.19 per hour). On-site parking is available and the position supports multi-drop deliveries.

You will drive Category C vehicles, follow safety procedures, and ensure high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance throughout routes.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C) required.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Good knowledge of UK driving regulations and transport legislation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties.
• Experience driving double-deck vehicles.
• Logistics or distribution sector experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 vehicles, including double-deck units.
• Complete scheduled multi-drop deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Maintain delivery paperwork and driver records.
• Plan routes to maximise efficiency and meet schedules.
• Assist with loading and unloading when required.
• Comply with DVSA regulations and tachograph procedures.

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries across planned routes while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicles, including double-deck units
• Completing scheduled multi-drop deliveries efficiently and safely
• Conducting daily vehicle safety checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly and transported safely
• Maintaining delivery paperwork and driver records accurately
• Planning routes to maximise efficiency and meet delivery schedules
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
• Complying with all DVSA regulations, tachograph legislation, and health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid

HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence

• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience
