Job summary

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently working in exclusive partnership with a well-established transport and logistics operation in the Preston area to recruit experienced HGV Drivers. This full-time role commences on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis, with permanent opportunities after the initial probation period and regular day shifts.

You will operate up to 18-tonne vehicles on local and regional routes (PR, LA, BB postcodes), perform daily vehicle safety inspections, complete delivery

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence (Category C) held.
• Experience with local/regional routes preferred.
• Ability to perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
• Knowledge of tachograph records and delivery paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles up to 18-tonne on local/regional routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report defects.
• Complete delivery paperwork and tachograph records accurately.
• Load, secure and transport goods safely and efficiently.
• Provide professional service during deliveries and collections and communicate route updates.

• Shifts: Day shifts available – 5 days per week (45 to 50 hours per week).

This position commences full-time on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis (based on business demand / requirements and performance / attendance within the 12-weeks). The role is being offered as a permanent basis after the initial 12-week period.

We are seeking HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers on a day shift basis to join a busy and professional transport team offering regular work, ongoing support and long-term career prospects.

HGV Class 2 Drivers (Category C):

• Operating vehicles (up to 18-tonne curtain side with tail lift or rigid) on local and regional collection / delivery routes (PR, LA, BB postcodes)
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting any defects
• Completing delivery paperwork and tachograph records accurately
• Loading, securing and transporting goods safely
• Providing a professional and courteous service during deliveries and collections
• Communicating effectively with transport teams regarding route updates and delays
