Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an HGV Class 2 (Cat C) driver to join a busy refuse and waste collection operation in Market Harborough (LE16). This role involves driving a bin lorry on established routes, working with a loader crew, and performing daily vehicle checks to ensure safe and compliant waste collection.

• Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence and CPC
• Clean driving record with no serious offences
• Able to complete daily walkaround checks and defect reporting

Responsibilities

• Operate a HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on assigned routes
• Work with loader/ground crew to complete waste collections safely and efficiently
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects
• Ensure waste is transported to designated disposal/transfer/tipping facilities
• Support winter maintenance and emergency response duties if required

Immediate Start – Market Harborough (LE16)
We are currently recruiting experienced and newly qualified HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Drivers to join a busy refuse and waste collection operation in the Market Harborough (LE16) area.
This is an excellent opportunity for HGV 2 drivers looking for ongoing work within a structured local authority/environmental services operation.
Working as part of a dedicated refuse collection crew, you will be responsible for operating an HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on allocated waste collection routes, ensuring all scheduled collections are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures and relevant road transport legislation.
Duties will include driving and manoeuvring the refuse vehicle on established rounds, working closely with the loader/ground crew, carrying out routine vehicle checks and ensuring all collected waste is transported safely to the designated disposal, transfer or tipping facility.
Drivers will be expected to maintain a high standard of vehicle safety and awareness at all times, including completing relevant daily walkaround checks, defect reporting and vehicle safety procedures.
During the winter period, there may also be opportunities or requirements to support the council’s winter maintenance and emergency response operations, including the operation of vehicles involved in gritting, salting and snow/ice clearance across the local road network.
