Job summary

Driver Hire Stockport are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to work for our well respected client based in Poynton. Working Monday-Friday 8am starts with flexible start times depending on planning.

This is a temp to perm contract, so once 65 shifts are completed you will go full-time with the client. You may also be asked to assist in the warehouse when deliveries are completed early.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• HGV Class 2 (Category C) card is required.
• Digital Tachograph Card is mandatory.
• No DD, DR, IN or TT endorsements.
• Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the HGV vehicle safely and in line with road traffic laws.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Maintain regular contact with the branch about daily progress.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.

Education

Full UK driving licence

HGV Category C (Class 2)

Digital Tachograph Card

Endorsements: none (DD/DR/IN/TT)

This is a temp to perm contract, so once 65 shift are completed with Driver Hire you will go full time with the client.

Please also note that if delivery’s are completed early you will be asked to assist in the warehouse.

Duties of our HGV Class 2 Driver includes:

• Driving the HGV vehicle safely and responsibly while complying with all road traffic laws.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Maintaining regular communication with the branch regarding your daily progress.
• Completing all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

To be considered, you’ll need:

• A full UK driving licence.
• A valid HGV Category C (Class 2)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No DD, DR, IN or TT endorsements.
• 6 months’ relevant HGV driving experience (preferred).
• The ability to work to tight deadlines.

Pay Rates:

Paid weekly via PAYE

HGV Class 2 Driver:

£16.25 per hour – Minimum 8 hours

These rates include holiday pay, if you prefer to accrue holiday separately, then the rates become:

£14.50 per hour – Minimum 8 hours

When you go full time with our client you will receive £14.50ph and 25 days holidays per annum
