Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is seeking an experienced Class 2 Driver to join a well‑established general haulage company. You will undertake long‑distance palletised freight deliveries across the UK and perform vehicle checks and paperwork to ensure compliance.

The role operates Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays on a rota, starting around 7:00am. Benefits include sign‑up bonus after 10 shifts, weekly pay, PAYE options, 24/7 support, access to CPC training, and on‑site parking.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence is required.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card required.
• Minimum of one year’s Class 2 driving experience.
• Experience securing loads with straps and operating curtain‑side tail‑lift trucks.

Responsibilities

• Drive long-distance routes across the UK.
• Transport and unload palletised freight.
• Complete vehicle checks and relevant paperwork.
• Adhere to drivers’ hours and health and safety regulations.

The role:

What you’ll need:

• Experience driving 18-tonne or 26-tonne curtain‑side tail‑lift vehicles
• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and health and safety regulations
