Job summary

Driver Hire Winchester is recruiting an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) driver to join a leading general haulage operation. You will undertake long-distance palletised freight deliveries across the UK, working Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays on a rota.

This role requires a full UK Class 2 licence, CPC and Digi Tacho, plus at least two years of Class 2 driving experience. You’ll be skilled in securing loads, using curtain-side tail-lift vehicles, and completing daily checks and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a Full UK Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• CPC and Digi Tacho Card are required.
• Minimum 2 years of Class 2 driving experience.
• Experience securing and strapping loads.
• Experience driving 18T or 26T curtain-side tail-lift vehicles.
• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Monday to Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays on a rota.
• Long-distance deliveries across the UK.
• Deliver palletised freight to commercial customers.
• Use pump truck to unload pallets; some sites use forklift unloading.
• Drive 18T or 26T curtain-side tail-lift vehicles; tail-lift operation.
• Strap and secure loads safely.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and required paperwork.
• Maintain professional and safe conduct at all times.

The Role
