Job summary

Workchain are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client in Portishead, near the football club. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to become permanent after 13 weeks, subject to probation. New passes are welcome.

The role includes daily vehicle walk-around checks, securing loads, and multi-drop deliveries across Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 07:00 start when progressing to permanent status.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 license.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries is preferred.
• Probationary period with potential to go permanent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks.
• Strap and secure loads for safe transport.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries (approximately 8–10 per day).
• Deliver to Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire as required.
• Operate forklift for loading/unloading as needed.

We are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client based in Portishead, near the football club.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to become permanent after 13 weeks, subject to successfully passing probation. (New passes are welcome)

PAY & HOURS

• £16 per hour
• 39-hour basic working week
• Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-4:45pm
• Friday: 7:00am-3:45pm
• 1 hour overtime per day paid at time and a half for when you start at 07:00am when you go permanent.
• Earlier starts may be required during busier periods
• Temp-to-perm opportunity

THE ROLE

Daily responsibilities will include:

• Vehicle walk-around checks
• Strapping and securing loads
• Multi-drop deliveries
• Approximately 8-10 deliveries per day
• Deliveries across Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire
• Very, little handball, as you are dealing with steel the majority of load/unload completed by forklift
