Job summary

Osborne Appointments is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a Bedford-based role, delivering and collecting goods across the UK. Typical duties include 2–3 deliveries per day, loading, securing, and unloading items, with professional customer service at each site.

The role offers £19.23 per hour, weekly pay, and a £600 quarterly bonus, with occasional weekend overtime paid at double. Immediate start; temporary to permanent opportunity and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with a good driving record.
• Previous HGV driving experience, ideally long-distance / nationwide deliveries.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional, reliable approach.
• Strong understanding of safe loading, securing and handling of goods, with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV to deliver furniture and goods to commercial client sites across the UK, with typically 2-3 deliveries per day.
• Load, secure, transport and unload goods safely, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition and on schedule.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery locations, communicating clearly and courteously with clients.
• Complete occasional collections from suppliers, clients or other locations, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and comply with all relevant driving, vehicle, health & safety and transport regulations.

Role: HGV Class 2 Driver (18 Tonne)

Location: Bedford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00am til finish - 40 hour week

Salary: £19.23 an hour, weekly pay (+ performance bonus of £600 a quarter)

Overtime available on weekend (occasionally) - paid at double

OA are currently working with a well established client based in Bedford, currently looking to recruit for an experienced, HGV Class 2 Driver to support the delivery and collection of products across the UK.

Duties of a HGV Driver:

• Safely operate an HGV to deliver furniture and goods to commercial client sites across the UK, with typically 2-3deliveries per day depending on location and route.
• Load, secure, transport and unload goods safely, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition and on schedule.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery locations, communicating clearly and courteously with clients and representing the company positively.
• Complete occasional collections from suppliers, clients or other locations as required, ensuring all relevant paperwork and delivery documentation is completed accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and comply with all relevant driving, vehicle, health & safety and transport regulations.

What we would like from you:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with a good driving record.
• Previous HGV driving experience, ideally involving long-distance / nationwide deliveries and commercial customer sites.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional, reliable and courteous approach when dealing with clients.

• Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently, managing longer journeys and varying delivery schedules with a "get the job done" attitude.
