Job summary

Bestway Group is recruiting a HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our team. You will deliver to a wide range of independent retailers, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service across the local area.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph Card, with experience in multi-drop driving and strong knowledge of the local area. A pension and 22 days annual leave are among the benefits.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) UK licence required.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card essential.
• Experience with multi-drop deliveries.
• Strong knowledge of the local area.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Load orders with the depot team for delivery.
• Complete multi-drop deliveries within the local area and timeframes.
• Manual handling of stock on and off vehicle.
• Ensure deliveries are received and payments recorded.
• Record paperwork accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Manage chilled and frozen deliveries per procedures.
• Meet transport compliance requirements at all times.
• Provide the highest level of service to customers.
• Maintain health and safety standards and safe practices.
• Keep vehicle, stock and equipment secure.

We currently have an opportunity for an HGV / Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our team. You will be delivering to a wide variety of independent retailers within the local area, ensuring that they receive their orders in a timely manner and experience fantastic customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the depot team to ensure all orders are loaded for delivery correctly.
• Complete multi-drop deliveries within the local area and within specified timeframes on a daily basis.
• Manual handling of stock on and off your vehicle.
• Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and payment is received.
• Ensure accurate recording of paperwork.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
• Manage chilled and frozen deliveries in line with company procedures.
• Ensure all transport compliance requirements are met at all times.
• Provide the highest level of service to our customers at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of health and safety and ensure safe working practices are adhered to.
• Ensure the vehicle, stock and equipment are secure at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) UK driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience in multi-drop driving.
• Good knowledge of the local area.
• Good understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work effectively and independently under pressure.
• Flexible approach to working hours as delivery round times may vary depending on workload.
• A good team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
• The ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
• Initiative along with the willingness to learn and develop their skills.
• Drive and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
