Job summary

Pure Staff are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Day Driver to work with one of our valued clients based in Newport. Start Date: Immediate Start Available. You will be responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries of palletised goods to customers along your designated route.

Typical shifts run 10–12 hours starting between 05:00 and 08:00, with 3–12 drops per shift. You will use a pump truck and must hold a Class 2 Licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Requires Driver CPC Qualification.

• Minimum 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete multi-drop deliveries of palletised goods safely and efficiently.
• Carry out between 3 and 12 deliveries per shift.
• Use a pump truck to assist with deliveries where required.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
• Adhere to all driver hours, working time regulations, and company procedures.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with customers.
• Wear PPE as required (safety boots, hi-vis).
• Complete driving assessment prior to commencing work.

The Role

HGV Class 2 Day Driver - Newport

Start Date: Immediate Start Available

As an HGV Class 2 Day Driver, you will be responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries of palletised goods to customers across your designated route.

Drivers can expect to complete between 3 and 12 drops per shift, using a pump truck to assist with deliveries. Average shift lengths are between 10 and 12 hours, with start times typically between 05:00 and 08:00.

This is a customer-facing role that requires a professional attitude and excellent communication skills when representing both Pure Staff and our client.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• A minimum of 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points with no TT, TS, MS, DR, or DD endorsements.
• A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude.

Pay Rates

• Monday to Friday Days: £15.50 per hour plus £1.87 per hour accrued holiday pay (equivalent to £17.37 per hour including holiday pay).
