Job summary

Pertemps Newcastle is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver for Northumbrian Water, based at Tees Dock Road, Stockton-on-Tees. This fixed-term contract offers £16.88 per hour with overtime up to 2.2x, and is up to 40 hours per week across day and night shifts.

You will transport sludge from sewage treatment works to processing sites across the North East, delivering a professional service while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive
• Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O-Licence requirements
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant vehicle at all times
• Safely loading and unloading tanker equipment in accordance with Northumbrian Water Health & Safety procedures
• Promoting and supporting the Everyone Home Safe Everyday culture
• Driving in a fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible manner
• Delivering excellent service whilst representing Northumbrian Water professionally.
