Job summary

Northumbrian Water is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tanker Driver for their Tees Dock Road facility. You will transport sludge products across the North East to treatment facilities.

The role is a fixed-term contract of at least 5 months, with up to 40 hours per week, day and night shifts, and a rate of £16.88 per hour with overtime options up to 2.2x hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Knowledge of EU Driver Hours Regulations & Working Time Directive.
• Health, safety and compliance mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O-Licence requirements.
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant vehicle at all times.
• Safely loading and unloading tanker equipment in accordance with Northumbrian Water Health & Safety procedures.
• Promoting and supporting the "Everyone Home Safe Everyday" culture.
• Driving in a fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
• Delivering excellent service whilst representing Northumbrian Water professionally.

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of Northumbrian Water for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver based out of their Tees Dock Road Facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region's leading utility companies, playing a key role in supporting wastewater operations across the North East.

As an HGV C+E Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for transporting sludge products from Northumbrian Water's sewage treatment works across the North East to treatment facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O-Licence requirements
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards

What We're Looking For:

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive
• Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
