Job summary

Sterling Personnel LTD is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 tramper driver for a Swadlincote-based role. The job involves Monday to Friday shifts with occasional Saturday mornings, starting around 05:00–06:00 and lasting 10–12 hours.

You will be delivering flatbed loads to builders yards, securing goods securely, and maintaining accurate paperwork and logs. CPC/Digi card and a clean licence are required, with up to 6 points.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E)
• Current CPC and Digi card
• No more than 6 points on licence
• Experience with tramping (long-haul) preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure goods are safely secured
• Deliver with care to avoid product damage
• Complete vehicle defect checks and maintain logs

Job description

HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver required for a position with our well-established client in Swadlincote.

The role is a tramping position, Monday to Friday occasionally rolling in on Saturday morning. The start time will be between 05:00am and 06:00am and will usually be between 10-12 hour days.

Job role will include:

• Flatbed work delivering to builders yards
• 10-12 hour shifts - 50-55 hours per week
• Ensuring goods are safely secured
• Making all deliveries with care and attention not to damage the product
• Completing vehicle defect and maintaining logs
• Completing delivery paperwork

The Candidate:

• A valid full category cat C+E licence
• Confident with strapping
• Previous Tramping experience
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
• LTD and sole trader drivers welcomed
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Have good customer service skills and an eye for detail
• Must have a current CPC and Digi card
• No more than 6 points on your licence for insurance purposes (no DR/DD/BA offences)
