Job summary

People Solutions is seeking an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver for Warrington, Cheshire. The role involves safe operation of CE articulated vehicles, trunking and curtain-sided work, and overnight stays when tramping is required.

You will be responsible for delivering loads, documenting deliveries with photos, and maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance with driver hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid UK Category CE Driving Licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences; no major endorsements (DR10, DG10, IN10, TT99).
• Strong customer service and communication skills in English; good timekeeping and reliability.

HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver - Warrington

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our well-established client based in Warrington, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, guaranteed minimum shift pay, night out allowance, and ongoing work with a leading logistics business.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £200.00 per shift (10-hour night shift)
• £25.00 night out allowance per night
• Weekly pay

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday tramping
• PM start times between 17:00 and 21:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver are:

• Driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing trunking, drop and swap duties
• Operating curtain-sided vehicles
• Securing loads using straps where required
• Taking photographs to document successful deliveries
• Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
• Reporting customer concerns promptly to management
• Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance issues where necessary
• Ensuring compliance with driver hours, Working Time Directive and road transport regulations
• Staying overnight in the vehicle during tramping assignments

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver, you will need:

• A minimum of three months' HGV Class 1 driving experience
• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsements, including DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A flexible approach to overnight tramping work
