Staffline is recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers in Leeds, offering full-time night shifts on a 4 on 4 off pattern. Pay ranges from £16.35 to £18.65 per hour for nights and includes on-site parking.

Shunter duties include moving goods between distribution centres, planning routes, and ensuring loads are delivered safely and on time. The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC and tachograph card with 6 months’ experience.

Staffline is recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers in Leeds.

Salary & Working Hours

The rate of pay is:

• Monday to Friday nights £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday nights £18.65 per hour

This is a full-time role working fixed night shifts, 4 on 4 off, and the hours of work are:

• 6pm to 6am

Your Time at Work

As a HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver you will be responsible for:

• Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles and double decker trailers to transport goods between distribution centres.
• Planning and following designated delivery routes while complying with road traffic laws, company policies, and driver hours regulations.
• Ensuring loads are transported safely, securely, and delivered within agreed schedules.
• Liaise with transport planners, depot staff, and customers to provide updates on delivery schedules and any delays.
• Maintaining a professional standard of conduct when representing the company at customer and depot locations.

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will have excellent communication skills and be able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.

Applicants will hold a HGV Class 1 driving licence, CPC and tacho card with 6 months experience in a similar role.
