Job summary

Staffline is recruiting HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers in Leeds, offering full-time night shifts on a 4 on 4 off pattern. Pay ranges from £16.35 to £18.65 per hour for nights and includes on-site parking.

Shunter duties include moving goods between distribution centres, planning routes, and ensuring loads are delivered safely and on time. The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC and tachograph card with 6 months’ experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to carry out vehicle checks to ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles and trailers to move goods between distribution centres.
• Plan and follow designated routes while complying with road laws and driver hours rules.
• Ensure loads are transported safely and on schedule.
• Liaise with transport planners, depot staff and customers on delivery updates and delays.
• Maintain professional conduct when representing the company at locations.
