Job summary

Uniserve Holdings Ltd seeks a reliable HGV Class 1 Night Driver to move goods from Rugby to Daventry using LST trailers, starting at 10pm on a 4 on 4 off pattern.

You will conduct daily vehicle inspections, load and secure freight, comply with tachograph rules and driving hours, and provide excellent service on deliveries.

The role offers ongoing training, a modern fleet, uniform and PPE provision, and the opportunity to work with a leading logistics provider.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 C+E licence and CPC card.
• Must have a digital tachograph card.
• Experience with LST trailers is required.
• Proven safe driving record and compliance with EU road transport rules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report defects.
• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles on night shifts from Rugby to Daventry.
• Ensure freight is loaded, secured and within weight limits.
• Comply with EU transport regs, tachograph usage and driving hours.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Assist with safe loading/unloading as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
• Communicate operational concerns proactively.

Job description

Uniserve is seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to move goods from Rugby to Daventry using LST trailers. To safely and efficiently operate Class 1 HGV vehicles during night shifts, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods while maintaining full compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This role is dedicated to upholding vehicle roadworthiness through rigorous checks, delivering excellent customer service, supporting safe loading practices, and contributing to seamless logistics operations.

Salary: £40,800 annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off

Start time: 10pm

Duties:

• Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any vehicle defects.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentability of the vehicle at all times.
• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Ensure freight is correctly loaded, secured, and not overloaded.
• Comply with all current EU road transport regulations, including digital tachograph usage and driving hours.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Report any customer complaints or issues promptly to the Transport team.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to transport operations.
• Adhere strictly to licence restrictions and legal driving regulations.
• Ensure accurate use of Digital Tachograph and compliance with driving hours.
• Assist with the safe loading and unloading of company vehicles when required.
• Promote and adhere to company safety standards and best practices.
• Take full ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
• Communicate proactively about any operational concerns or issues.
