Job summary

Sure Call Recruitment & AFE Recruitment is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a 6 to 10-week temporary trunking contract across Stoke-on-Trent, Milton Keynes and Bristol. The role involves depot-to-depot trunking with minimal manual handling and requires a UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and tachograph card.

Accommodation, meals, and a relocation bonus are provided. Base pay is £21.44–£25.32 per hour with accrued holiday pay, plus travel mileage reimbursement and a weekly

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence required.
• Driver CPC card required.
• Digital Tachograph card required.
• Clean licence preferred; up to 6 minor points considered; no DR/IN endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Trunking operations between depots; transport mail and parcels.
• Adhere to scheduled hub-to-hub timetables.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Comply with EU Drivers' Hours, working time directives, and tachograph rules.
• Minimal manual handling; drop-and-swap or depot-assisted offloading.
