Sure Call Recruitment & AFE Recruitment is seeking professional HGV Class 1 drivers for a 6 to 10-week temporary trunking contract across Stoke-on-Trent, Milton Keynes and Bristol. Role focuses on depot-to-depot trunking with minimal manual handling and involves flexible shifts and relocation to hotel accommodation.

Premium hotel accommodation, daily meals, £15 per day subsistence, and £240/week relocation bonus accompany a competitive hourly rate and mileage reimbursement for UK travel.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card are required.
• Clean driving record (up to 6 minor points; no DR/DD/IN endorsements).
• Willingness to relocate temporarily to provided accommodation and work flexible shifts (day, night, weekends).

Responsibilities

• Trunking operations: safely transport mail and parcels between depots.
• Timetable adherence: complete scheduled hub-to-hub drop-offs on time.
• Vehicle maintenance: perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects.
• Regulatory compliance: adhere to EU Driver hours, working time directives and tachograph rules.
• Minimal manual handling: primarily drop-and-swap or depot-assisted offloading.
