Job summary

Drivers Today in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for ongoing general haulage and trunking work with established transport companies.

£19.00 per hour – PAYE including holiday pay or LTD, Monday to Friday day shifts, regular early starts around 06:00, long-term ongoing assignments and weekly pay. Nights out may be available but are not compulsory.

Qualifications

• Must have HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence.
• Driver CPC valid.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive articulated HGV Class 1 vehicles for general haulage and trunking.
• Handle deliveries and collections, RDC-to-RDC and depot work.
• Perform trailer checks, secure loads and complete delivery paperwork.
• Follow drivers hours rules and tachograph regulations.

What Does the Job Involve?

You’ll be carrying out a variety of HGV Class 1 general haulage and trunking duties, including:

• Driving articulated HGV Class 1 vehicles


• General haulage deliveries and collections


• RDC-to-RDC and depot deliveries


• Curtain-sided trailer work


• Local, regional and longer-distance routes


• Trailer checks and securing loads


• Completing delivery paperwork


• Following drivers' hours and tachograph regulations

What We're Looking For

You’ll need:

• A valid HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence


• Valid Driver CPC


• Digital Tachograph Card


• Previous Class 1 driving experience


• General haulage or trunking experience preferred


• Good knowledge of drivers' hours regulations


• Reliable timekeeping and a professional attitude
