Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver to collect, transport and tip RoRo containers across 21 recycling centres. You will drive various vehicles, ensure loads are secure, complete logs, and maintain documentation.

The role includes a weekend rolling rota with an 8% uplift and access to extensive benefits. Applicants should hold a compliant HGV licence, current Driver CPC, and knowledge of health and safety.

Qualifications

• Compliant HGV licence verifiable by authorities.
• Current Driver CPC and understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive and manage assigned vehicle, including driver checks and logs.
• Load and unload containers, ensuring loads are safe and secure.
• Use vehicles, equipment and machinery safely per training and guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles before use and report issues.
• Complete required paperwork and submit end of shift.
• Process waste transfer documentation for each load.
• Maintain your HGV licence and attend required training.
