Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver for ongoing trunking work based in Hythe, Kent. The role involves regular long-distance runs to the Midlands, including Solihull, Derby and Coventry, with curtain-sided trailers and daily checks.

You must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, plus curtain-side and CMR documentation experience. Immediate start, full-time, 10–15 hour shifts, with pay between £17 and £21 per hour plus

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience.
• Curtain-side experience - essential.
• CMR documentation experience - essential.
• Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.

Responsibilities

• HGV Class 1 trunking from Hythe to the Midlands.
• Regular routes to Solihull, Derby and Coventry.
• Predominantly trunking with occasional delivery drops.
• Operating curtain-sided trailers.
• Completing CMRs and associated transport documentation.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Working within Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
• Maintaining a professional service at all times.
