Job summary

Right Now Group are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join an established transport and logistics business operating within the freight and air cargo sector. This is a permanent position with regular Freight Forwarding workloads, driving a Class 1 articulated vehicle and handling multiple collections and deliveries across local and regional routes.

Typical shifts run Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00, with 10-hour shifts and occasional earlier starts.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of professional HGV driving experience.
Valid Class 1 / Category C+E Driving Licence.
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Max 3 points on driving licence.
Freight, Transport or Logistics experience is advantageous.
Physically fit and hands-on when required.

Responsibilities

Complete daily collections and deliveries for Freight Forwarding customers.
Drive a Class 1 articulated vehicle as the primary vehicle.
Collect freight from shippers and deliver to freight and logistics facilities.
Carry out local and regional routes; longer runs as needed (often Birmingham and back).
Safely load, secure and transport freight; assist with loading/unloading.
Use a pump truck and, occasionally, a Luton van to support operations.
Check documentation and obtain signatures/Proof of Delivery.
