Job summary

WT Transport in the United Kingdom is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver for local and national deliveries. You will transport palletised freight and specialist loads using articulated vehicles, performing pre-trip checks and maintaining accurate delivery documentation in line with company procedures.

This full-time, on-site role requires safe loading, compliance with health and safety standards, and professional communication with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving license, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a clean or low-point driving record.
• Strong knowledge of UK road laws, tachograph rules, Working Time Directive, and safe loading practices.
• Experience with articulated vehicles, tail-lifts, curtainsiders, and palletised freight handling.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for paperwork and customer interactions.
• Reliable time management and attention to detail following route plans and procedures.
• Basic numeracy/IT skills for handheld devices and telematics.
• Commitment to health and safety in yards, warehouses and loading bays.
• Willingness to complete FORS training or related experience.
• Flexibility for varying shifts including early starts and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Local and national deliveries and collections.
• Transport palletised freight, general haulage, and specialist loads.
• Safely load and unload goods, perform vehicle checks, and complete documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues and follow schedules.
• Support safe operations within yard and warehouse areas as required.
