Job summary

QS Recruitment is recruiting for HGV Class 1 drivers for permanent roles in the Chesterfield area. The job involves nationwide deliveries to builders' merchants, sites and commercial customers with a structured workload and modern vehicles.

Typical shifts run Monday–Friday with early starts (between 05:00 and 07:00). The role offers regular hours, potential progression, and competitive pay including enhanced overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.
• A current Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
• A minimum of 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• At least 180 days of commercial driving experience within a professional driving environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport products to builders’ merchants, construction sites and commercial customers across the country.
• Complete 4–8 deliveries per shift using curtain-sided vehicles.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and comply with transport regulations.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and deliver a professional service to customers.
