Job summary

GRS Group is seeking a self-motivated HGV driver for our Husbands Bosworth site. Drive LGV/HGV vehicles, deliver goods to customers, and uphold health and safety on every run.

We offer 45-hour weeks with overtime, paid bank holidays, a company pension, annual health assessment, full training on equipment, and a supportive team that values reliability and integrity.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence with some experience.
• Driver CPC Card.
• Valid Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle safety/condition at start of day and record it.
• Care for company assets and use according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Ensure vehicle is securely loaded within legal weight limits.
• Drive efficiently and legally on the road.
• Prioritise health and safety of self and others at all times.
• Represent the company professionally to customers on the road and on-site.
• Assist in yard/other duties when not driving.
• Complete reports/documents accurately and on time.
• Contribute to business wellbeing and profitability where possible.
• Maintain HR and Health & Safety compliance to promote a safe workplace.

JOB PURPOSE

To drive LGV/HGV vehicles and deliver goods and services as required. To drive company delivery vehicles and deliver its goods to customers efficiently and considerately whilst ensuring the health and safety of self, the public and other road users. To ensure the good maintenance and operation of the company’s assets and to provide excellent service to customers.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and to record its condition using the system provided and to promptly report any faults as they occur.
• To care for the company’s assets whilst in his/her charge and ensure they are used according to manufacturer’s recommendations ensuring effective long-term performance.
• To ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
• To drive as efficiently and productively as possible but to do so within the prevailing road traffic law.
• To give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
• To represent the company both on the road and at the customers’ premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and to report promptly any matters likely to affect the company’s business prospects.
• To assist in yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
• To complete reports and documentations to time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
• To contribute to the wellbeing and profitability of the business as far as it depends upon him/her.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE,

• Training on site on the day.
• HGV Class 1 License with some experience.
• Drivers CPC Card.
• Valid Tachograph Card.
