Job summary

Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a days-based temporary position in Stockton-on-Tees. You will deliver and collect goods, perform vehicle checks and secure loads to ensure safe transport. Weekly pay and local site interaction are part of the role.

The ideal candidate holds a valid HGV1 licence with CPC, understands drivers’ hours rules and communicates professionally with customers and site teams. Flexibility to cover delivery schedules is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence, Category C+E.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and road transport regulations.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and professional.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work days and complete delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle in line with legal and company requirements.
• Complete local and regional deliveries and collections as required.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
• Maintain professional communication with site teams and customers.
• Follow all relevant transport, health and safety procedures.
