Job summary

Staffline is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for a busy Sherburn in Elmet operation. Start date is immediate with guaranteed minimum 5 shifts per week through to mid-January 2027. Positions include two 04:00 starts and one 10:00 start, with on-site facilities and weekly pay.

This PAYE role offers day, night, weekend, and bank holiday rates to reward reliability and efficiency. Applicants should have a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, tachograph card, CPC, and up to 6 penalty points.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 experience preferred.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• Good understanding of driver hours and road transport regulations.
• Professional, reliable and safety-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Delivering goods to stores and distribution centres across local and regional routes.
• Completing store and RDC deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Operating tail lifts, pump trucks and other delivery equipment.
• Conducting vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with transport legislation.
• Accurately completing all driver paperwork and electronic records.
• Typically, drivers will complete between 1 and 4 drops per shift, depending on route requirements.
• Assessments and inductions are available immediately, with slots being conducted by the transport team from tomorrow onwards.

Minimum 6 months experience required for this role

Due to a significant increase in stock volumes, we are recruiting 3 additional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to support our busy operation in Sherburn in Elmet.

We are looking for reliable and professional drivers who are available to work weekends, including Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with guaranteed ongoing work through to mid-January 2027.

Available Positions

• 2 x Drivers - 04:00 AM Start
• 1 x Driver - 10:00 AM Start

Successful candidates will be guaranteed a minimum of 5 shifts per week and will become part of a well-established and supportive transport team.

PAYE rates for the role of HGV Class 1 driver are as follows:

Days: £20 per hour

Nights £20.75 per hour

Saturday: £21.50 per hour

Sunday: £22.25 per hour

Bank Holiday Day: £23.25 per hour

Bank Holiday Night: £26.91 per hour

Your Time at Work
