Job summary

CML, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting professional HGV Class 1 Drivers for night shifts in Telford, delivering to key retail customers across the UK. This permanent, full-time role offers stability, a supportive transport team, and opportunities for night-out runs.

You will carry out safe, professional deliveries, complete nationwide routes, perform vehicle checks, and adhere to hours and tachograph rules while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence and DCPC required.
• Digital Tachograph cards and knowledge of Drivers’ Hours.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• No more than 6 points, no DD/DR convictions.
• Understanding of Working Time Directive and vehicle checks.
• Good communication and professional conduct on-site.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres.
• Load and unload where required using PPT equipment.
• Report to the Transport team at shift start and update delays or issues.
• Complete paperwork and obtain PODs signed and returned.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene standards and tachograph rules.
• Maintain professional behaviour and customer service at all times.
• Look for night-out runs where available.

Job Description

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our CML team in Telford, supporting our Long-Life Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent night driving role offering full-time stability, and the opportunity to be part of a trusted logistics operation. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Shift patterns available

• 5 on 3 off Nights (start time between 18:00 – 23:00)

Due to the nature of the products being delivered, our drivers will have 3 hour start windows to ensure they are flexible depending on volume

Pay rates

Our HGV Drivers have strong earning potential, with OTE earnings ranging from £44812 to £52000 depending on shift pattern, overtime and applicable allowances.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres
• Load and unload where required using PPT equipment.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• Take advantage of night-out runs where available, if this is something you are interested in.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Current valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Minimum 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• Newly qualified drivers will be considered if you show the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR code convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
